People of Action
Oak Bay Rotary supports important initiatives and programs
in our community as well as internationally.
“Service Above Self” Since 1974
Chartered in 1974, the Rotary Club of Oak Bay is one of 46,000 clubs worldwide. We do a lot, are tuned in to important issues, hear interesting presentations and enjoy being part of something bigger than us. We are friendly people of all ages and backgrounds networking to make the world a better place. About 50 members, our Club is the perfect size to get to know each other. Friendships are made in Rotary!
FLAG PROGRAM
Under this program, Rotarian volunteers install Canadian flags in celebration of Victoria Day, Canada Day and Labour Day, collecting them after the weekends. Presently we are offering a $40 subscription for installation of flags in celebration of Canada Day and Labour Day only. Funds raised support our numerous local and international projects.
People of Action
Our Club offers opportunities for our members — and those interested in making a difference — to get involved. Through meetings, social events, and volunteer projects, our members learn about the issues facing our community and communities all over the world, partnering with local, national, and global experts to exchange ideas about potential solutions and to draw up action plans to respond. Along with these opportunities to serve, members also are able to regularly network, resulting in lifelong friendships and business connections.
Our Club is a proud part of this community and of Rotary International. Rotary is a global network of approximately 1.4 million members from more than 200 countries and geographical areas who believe that great things happen when dedicated minds come together. We are community and business leaders representing different professions, experiences, and perspectives but with a shared desire to connect with others to address the challenges affecting our community and communities around the world.
Rotary brings together volunteer leaders who dedicate their time and talent to tackle the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges. Rotary work impacts lives at both the local and international levels, from helping families in need in their own communities to working toward a polio-free world.
Make a difference, get involved, learn about issues facing local and international communities, build career skills, network, make new friendships and HAVE FUN!!
The Rotary Club of Oak Bay acknowledges, with gratitude, that we gather and serve
on the traditional territory of the Esquimalt, Songhees and W̱SÁNEĆ Nations,
whose historic connections to these lands continue to this day.
