Volunteer Opportunities
Beyond meetings, financial contributions, social events and fellowship, the Rotary Club of Oak Bay offers meaningful service opportunities for our members, where they have a chance to engage directly with community through hands-on activities as well as use their knowledge and skills to help support the success of our Club in tangible and rewarding ways that benefit all.
Monthly Refundable and Bottle Drive
Join us the first Saturday of each month in the Oak Bay High School parking to help accept and sort empties donated from the community. It’s a great way to serve the community, help protect the environment, and connect with community members while getting better acquainted with your Rotary peers.
Salvation Army Kettles
Every December members of our Club ring the kettle bells on Oak Bay Ave to support the good work of the Salvation Army. Shifts are one hour and are sure to get you in the Holiday spirit. See you there!
Lansdowne Middle School Breakfast Program
Come volunteer alongside other members of our Club to assist with the daily breakfast program at Lansdowne Middle School, helping students perform better academically, be more emotionally regulated, socially engaged, and cognitively resilient.
Mustard Seed Christmas Hampers
Each December Club members volunteer to hand out Christmas Hampers at the Mustard Seed or act as personal shoppers for those in need. You can help too!
Monthly Beach Cleanups
Once a month members of our Club join Surfrider at their monthly beach cleanup for a fun way to participate in a meaningful activity that serves the community and the environment. Come out and join us!
Club Committees
Our Club thrives when members join one of our committees for dynamic collaboration on projects, events, and other activities. Whether it’s community services, literacy, environment, youth, international, or media and membership, there is something for everyone. Ask what you can do!
Feed & Bleed
Club members get together for lunch before heading over to participate in a group blood donation. Feels good to know you’re helping save lives. It’s in you to give!
Event Helpers
It takes a lot of work to organize fundraisers and other events and it’s always appreciated when Club members step up to help keep things running smoothly, whether that means taking names at the door and greeting participants with a warm smile, setting up and tearing down, or promoting ticket sales in advance. Your help is always appreciated!
