Victoria Hand Project
Victoria Hand Project is a Canadian charity born in the Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering Dept of University of Victoria that provides low-cost, 3D-printed prosthetic arms to amputees in low-income and conflict-affected regions by equipping and training local clinics. In partnership with local Rotary Clubs we have recently brought equipment and training to an existing Hand Project in Nepal that allows them to expand their successful operation. Photos will soon follow.
The planned delivery of training and equipment to Rwanda has been temporarily delayed due to the cancellation by USAID of support for the receiving clinic. The organizing team is pursuing other funding and will bring that project back into focus as soon as that is accomplished. Funds already collected will be held for that moment.
Rotary supports this program of innovative technology, hands-on training, and local leadership to create sustainable, life-changing prosthetic programs in Nepal, Rwanda and many other countries presently lacking such breakthrough technology.
